Mobile jump-start service
Need help starting your vehicle? Send the year, make and model, what happens when you try to start it, and the vehicle location. We confirm coverage, vehicle suitability, availability and the service price before arranging a visit.
We come to homes, workplaces or suitable parking locations. No interstate service, towing or lockout service. Availability must be confirmed; this is not a promise of immediate dispatch.
Battery-terminal cleaning is available when appropriate and includes a protective terminal coating to help reduce future corrosion. Clean, secure terminal contact surfaces support a reliable electrical connection. Cleaning does not establish whether the battery, cables or charging system need repair; the coating does not repair existing acid damage. We confirm the scope and price before service. Flat tire? See spare tire assistance.
A jump-start may get the vehicle running, but it does not establish why the battery lost charge. If further testing or repair is needed, we explain the next step and estimate it separately.
Starting and charging diagnosis, quoted before booking
For an unexplained no-start, repeated battery discharge, or suspected starting/charging fault. We review your vehicle, location, and concern, then confirm your initial diagnostic appointment price before scheduling.
Parts, repairs, extended testing, and disassembly are separate and require approval. A simple jump-start does not automatically require a diagnostic visit.
Payment options
Credit cards are accepted through Tekmetric, and Zelle is available. Ask about Buy Now, Pay Later options for eligible purchases, subject to provider approval and terms. The request form does not collect payment.

What we evaluate and repair
Evaluation, repairs and service limits
Evaluation before parts
Checks are based on the vehicle and symptom. They may include battery condition, terminal and cable connections, voltage drop, starter operation and charging performance. We explain what the results support before recommending a battery, starter or alternator; intermittent faults may require further approved testing.
Selected repairs we offer
Jump-start assistance when the vehicle and location are suitable, plus vehicle-specific battery replacement, battery-terminal cleaning with a protective terminal coating when appropriate, selected starter and alternator repairs, and accessible cable, terminal or connection repairs. We supply suitable parts, review access and any required battery registration before accepting the job, and verify the approved repair afterward. When we supply and install the battery, required registration/reset or supported battery-specific coding is included. We also offer vehicle-appropriate battery-disconnect devices for infrequently driven vehicles after reviewing compatibility.
When a larger facility is needed
We offer supported battery-specific registration/reset and coding, but do not offer general ECU coding or module programming. Repairs requiring unsupported battery procedures, extensive disassembly or specialist access may be referred. Intermittent concerns can require further approved testing.
Preparing for your request
Send the vehicle year, make and model, your city or ZIP, and whether it cranks slowly, clicks or does nothing. Tell us if a jump-start helped, how long the vehicle had been sitting, battery age if known, and any warning messages. We confirm the full service address and suitable work area before scheduling.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Before you request service
What battery safety concerns should I report before a visit?
Tell us about a cracked or leaking case, unusual heat, smoke or damaged cables. Keep flames and sparks away and do not handle a damaged battery. We review the condition and vehicle procedure before attempting assistance. A successful jump-start does not establish that the underlying fault is repaired or that the vehicle is safe to drive. Battery-disconnect devices must be operated only as instructed with the vehicle switched off, never as an engine-running test.
What does terminal cleaning and protective coating do?
We clean accessible battery-terminal contact surfaces and apply a protective terminal coating to help reduce future corrosion. Cleaning and a secure connection support reliable current flow for starting and electrical operation. The coating protects the exposed terminal area; it is not a repair for existing acid damage and does not itself increase electrical conductivity. Damaged terminals or cables, battery faults and abnormal drain can require separate approved testing or repairs.
What is included with battery installation?
For qualifying nearby visits, standard accessible installation is $150 labor plus our supplied battery and applicable tax. It includes basic checks, installation and required battery registration/reset or supported battery-specific coding, a $50 service included at no separate charge. We bring the battery to your location and confirm the complete estimate before scheduling. Detailed fault-finding is separate.
Why do some vehicles need battery registration or a reset?
Some vehicles track battery age and condition to adjust charging. Registration or a battery-management reset tells the system that a new battery has been installed. Other vehicles do not require this step. We check the vehicle-specific procedure rather than assume every vehicle needs it.
Is registration the same as coding or programming?
Not necessarily. Registration or reset records the battery replacement. A change in battery type or capacity can require additional coding or programming on some vehicles. We confirm the required procedure and our equipment coverage before accepting the job. We offer battery-specific coding where our equipment supports the required procedure. General ECU coding or module programming remains outside our scope.
Can you register or code a battery I installed myself?
Yes. Battery registration/reset or supported battery-specific coding is $50 at a qualifying nearby address, including travel. This is available if you installed your own battery. We check the battery specifications and required procedure before scheduling. Unsupported procedures, incorrect batteries or additional fault-finding may require a separate estimate or referral. The service is included when we supply and install the replacement battery.
What if the battery is under a seat or behind a wheel-well liner?
The $150 labor menu price applies to standard accessible batteries. Seat, wheel-well liner, trim or other component removal is estimated separately for the specific vehicle. Send your VIN or license plate and state so we can review the procedure and confirm pricing before scheduling.
What warranty comes with your supplied battery?
Batteries supplied by 4A include a three-year prorated replacement warranty. Prorated coverage means you may pay part of the replacement battery cost; it is not a promise of a free replacement for three years. Your estimate or invoice explains the applicable terms and whether return travel and installation labor are covered. Battery coverage is separate from our general repair warranty.
Why does a battery lose charge while the vehicle is parked?
A battery naturally loses charge through internal chemical activity, even when disconnected. While connected, security systems, computers and other electronics also use power. An electrical fault can cause excessive drain. Repeatedly leaving a battery discharged can reduce its capacity and useful life; discharge alone does not prove the battery is defective.
How long can a vehicle sit before the battery will not start it?
There is no guaranteed number of days. Battery age, condition, initial charge, temperature and vehicle electrical demand all matter. Interstate Batteries gives roughly four weeks to two months as general guidance, but a weak battery or excessive drain can cause a no-start much sooner. For extended storage, follow the vehicle manufacturer’s guidance and consider a compatible automatic battery maintainer.
How often should I start or drive an infrequently used vehicle?
Brief starts and a few minutes of idling are not a reliable charging routine. Interstate Batteries suggests at least a 30-minute drive weekly as general guidance, but that does not guarantee a full recharge or correct an electrical fault. A discharged battery may need a proper charger. For extended storage, a compatible automatic maintainer is generally more dependable; follow the vehicle and charger instructions.
What does battery reserve capacity mean?
Reserve capacity is the number of minutes a fully charged battery can supply 25 amps at 80°F until its voltage reaches 10.5 volts in a standardized test. It is not the number of days a parked vehicle can sit and still start. Parked-vehicle endurance depends on usable battery capacity, charge level and actual electrical draw.
Can a battery-disconnect device prevent drain?
A suitable disconnect device can reduce vehicle-related drain while parked, but it does not stop the battery’s natural self-discharge or repair the cause of an electrical fault. Disconnecting power can disable alarms and affect settings, access or required relearns. We review vehicle compatibility and explain operation before recommending installation. Where power is available, a compatible automatic maintainer may be a better storage option. Device and installation pricing are vehicle-specific.
Do you replace batteries without checking the starting or charging concern?
We evaluate the concern before recommending parts. A weak battery, poor connection, starter concern or charging fault can produce similar symptoms. Testing helps establish which repair the findings support.
Do you provide jump-start service?
Yes. Contact us with your vehicle year, make and model, symptoms and service location. We confirm vehicle suitability, coverage, availability and the service price before arranging a visit. A successful jump-start does not establish why the battery lost charge; any further evaluation or repair is discussed separately.
Will a new battery fix a no-start?
Not always. We evaluate the battery and relevant starting or charging circuits so a replacement recommendation is supported by the findings.
Can you find an overnight battery drain?
We review the vehicle and pattern first. Some drain concerns require extended monitoring or conditions that cannot be reproduced during an on-site visit; we confirm whether the request fits before scheduling.
Can you replace a starter or alternator at my home?
Selected vehicles and procedures fit on-site service. We review the vehicle, access, expected labor and safe working space before confirming.
Can you use any battery that physically fits?
Size is only part of the selection. We review vehicle specifications, battery type, terminal arrangement and service requirements before recommending a replacement.
What if it starts normally when you arrive?
We review history and test what can be verified. A normal start does not rule out an intermittent fault. We explain what the evidence establishes and any further testing needed.
We supply all repair parts. Installation of your usable, compatible spare tire is a separate assistance service. Qualifying repairs include a 2-year / 24,000-mile parts-and-labor warranty, whichever comes first. Why we supply the parts · Coverage and terms
